Every Drop Counts: Saving Water at Home and the Club

By October 30, 2025No Comments

Water is precious, especially in our Southern California community. Conserving water helps our neighbors, the environment, and our wallets.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica, we are committed to doing our part to conserve water. Here are some tips and ways to use this precious resource responsibly.

Tips to save water at home:

  • Fix leaks promptly.
  • Limit showers to five minutes.
  • Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth or shaving.
  • Wash dark clothes in cold water.
  • Collect running water from the sink or shower and use it to water plants.

What we’re doing at the Club:

  • Watering plants with gardening jugs instead of hoses.
  • Collecting rainwater.
  • Reporting leaks around the Club.

Small changes add up, helping save a significant amount of water. You can help, too! Try these tips at home, take advantage of LADWP programs, and spread the word.
