For over 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica has had one focus: giving kids what they need to thrive. Our proven programs help kids develop mentally, emotionally, and physically, and our team of experts is committed to helping every kid discover their potential.
We believe all kids deserve access to that kind of support. But for too many families, access isn’t a given.
The Problem Our Community Faces
Across Los Angeles County, more than 360,000 children aren’t enrolled in any afterschool program. Half of their families say cost is the reason (Afterschool Alliance, 2020).
That’s a problem worth solving. Through tuition-free programming for eligible households, we ensure that every kid—regardless of income or zip code—can walk through our doors. Last year, 777 members participated completely free of charge. This year, we’re on track to serve 2,000 Club members daily and reach an additional 2,000 through community outreach. Partner support makes that possible.

With support from the Julian Grace Foundation, we provide safe spaces, caring mentors, and enriching programs that support whole-child health and wellness. Their investment funds research-backed programming and strengthens our team’s training, equipping us to meet kids’ needs.
