Our members engage in daily physical activity, make healthy nutrition choices, employ good resistance and decision-making skills, and refrain from participating in risky behaviors.

SMART Girls, ages 8-18
The goal of the SMART Girls program is to help girls develop healthy attitudes and lifestyles. To accomplish this, the program addresses health and social issues that are specific to female Club members. SMART Girls is designed for two age-group levels; 8-12 and 13-18, according to their physiological, mental and emotional needs. In addition, the program is intended to help girls make positive decisions at this critical stage in their development.

Passport to Manhood, ages 8-18
Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each concentrating on a specific aspect of character and manhood through highly interactive activities. This program includes a service project where youth learn the importance of giving back to the community. It also represents a targeted effort to engage young men in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior.

Margaret’s Place
In September of 2014, the Santa Monica Boys & Girls Club formed a partnership with the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation and opened Margaret’s Place, a comprehensive violence prevention and intervention program. Margaret’s Place at SMBGC provides youth with a “Safe Room” where they can get support from a professional counselor, share stories with other peers, attend violence prevention workshops, participate in activities and serve as peer leaders who learn about and speak out against the impact of domestic violence and other violence-related issues in their community.
• Margaret’s Place services are provided FREE of charge on-site and include: Confidential Individual and Group counseling for youth who have been impacted by violence

• Safe Room for Youth

Social Emotional Wellness Initiative
A multi-facet program which offers social and emotional curriculum, consultation, staff training and onsite master’s level social work interns to promote the safety and overall well-being of Boys & Girls Club communities.

Youth for Unity, ages 6-12
Interactive activities enhance each child’s self-worth and encourage understanding and respect across cultures.

Triple Play Healthy Habits, ages 6-18
Healthy Habits is designed to teach young people about the benefits of healthy habits such as eating smart and being physically active and to equip young people with skills to adopt healthier habits by participating in fun and engaging learning activities both at the Club and at home.

Indoor and/or Outdoor Soccer Program, ages 4-14
This program offers the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of soccer. Depending on the site, we offer both indoor and outdoor soccer programs. This developmental league focuses on good sportsmanship and teamwork.

Boys & Girls Basketball, ages 6-18
Youth develop passing, shooting and dribbling skills, while learning basic rules and offensive/defensive formations. This is a developmental league that focuses on good sportsmanship and teamwork. Coaches needed!

Volleyball, ages 8-18
This is an Indoor Volleyball Clinic. Learn the basic techniques of volleyball, including sets, digs and smashes. Coaches Needed!

Flag Football, ages 6-14
This program offers the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of football, teamwork and cooperation, which inspires confidence — all in atmosphere where children are successful and learning is fun! Coaches needed!

Tennis, ages 8-18
Learn basic tennis skills from well trained coaches who will teach youth the fundamentals of this sport while teaching sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.

LaCrosse, ages 10-14
Come play and learn Lacrosse through clinics and leagues specifically designed to enhance social-emotional learning while teaching the fundamentals of Lacrosse.

T-ball/Softball, ages 5-18
Participate in t-ball or softball leagues that focus on the fundamentals, good sportsmanship and teamwork.

Triple Play Daily Challenges, ages 6-18
This program combines physical fitness, games and nutrition in a year-round initiative to promote healthy lifestyles and educate youth on healthy choices, as well as leadership.
